The plans have been announced by ESL to build a 1000 seat gaming venue. Located in Chengdu, China, ESL’s arena will be the first ever venue built solely for professional gaming. Jens Hilgers, CEO of ESL’s backers, Turtle Entertainment, called the stadium “a clear sign of growth.”

Inside the arena, spectators will be able to walk through 2,000 square meters of entertainment. The venue will house 200 top of the line gaming rigs, and will be a technological masterpiece. The venue will hold 1,000+ people.

The arena will be opened at this weekend’s Extreme Masters Continental Finals. Coverage of this event can be found here.
