Alleged X-Box Perv Arrested

BY Andrew Miesner / January 13, 2009

In an incident that will remind many eSports fans of the [GB]Spike situation, a man was arrested for soliciting naked photos from underaged boys on X-Box live.  According to Kotaku,

One man who learned that lesson the hard way was 24 year old Portsmouth, Virginia resident Ryan Edwin Donker. Donker, whose very last name might even be considered inappropriate for those underage, admitted to police that he had asked for naked photos of an Xbox Live user from Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was arrested, extradited to Arkansas, charged with a felony and held on $20,000 bond.

The Fayetteville Police Department recorded multiple Xbox Live conversations between Donker and the boy following the first incident.

This incident serves as another reminder to younger eSports fans that you need to be wary of who you’re talking to online.  In March of 2006 George “Spike” Finley, 52, a manager for a top American video gaming team, was arrested following accusations that he solicited nude pictures from minors.  In that case the Green Beret management acted quickly and decisively to stop Mr. Finley from committing further crimes.
